With decades of expertise in domestic and international trust, family business and family office structures, tax, succession, regulatory, and compliance laws, Claudia is a highly regarded professional in the field. In 2026 Claudia was invited to join the International Tax Specialist Group (ITSG) because her peers recognised her as being highly experienced in international tax planning. A full member (TEP) of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) since 2013, she has been appointed to the steering committee of the global STEP Special Interest Group Business Families in recognition of her skills and experience. Claudia also serves as the Deputy Convenor for the AML/CFT Committee of the Law Association (New Zealand), having previously completed two terms as a Committee Member for the Trust Law Committee. She is an inaugural accredited advisor of the New Zealand branch of the Family Business Association and is also respected author of internationally acclaimed legal guides. Before establishing Avancier, Claudia spent more than eight years as a partner and head of legal and international compliance at a leading New Zealand firm. Additionally, Claudia spent six years in the Channel Islands working with two leading international law firms, Ogier and Walkers.
With over four-and-a-half decades of expertise in domestic and international trusts, estate and succession planning, company, commercial, family business and property law, and international regulatory and compliance, Michael is a widely recognised professional. While practicing in New Zealand, he participated in a number of trade missions to China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. He has recently returned to New Zealand after spending close to 20 years practicing in the international trust industry based in Hong Kong. He was formerly Chairman, and later Vice-Chairman of the Hong Kong Trustees’ Association for several years, Co-Chairman of the China Development Sub- Committee (jointly with STEP Hong Kong), as well as a committee member of various Hong Kong Government agencies. Apart from New Zealand, Michael has dealt with a wide range of international trust jurisdictions, including Hong Kong, Singapore, BVI, Cayman, Guernsey, Jersey, Labuan, and Samoa.
